This is my example of the Airspeed Line Clearing Pump produced by Tanaka Keiki Seisakusho. This was used in various aircraft including the famous Ki-43 Hayabusa 隼 (Peregrine Falcon) “Oscar” and the Ki-61 Hien 飛燕 (Flying Swallow) “Tony”. These have become exceptionally rare, and (like the vacuum switches) are usually a reproduction item for instrument panels that include them. It was a plunger style device that was used to clear condensation from the pitot static line in the event that it may have become blocked, therefore affecting the pilot’s airspeed reading. I have tried to take more photos than usual to show this item as there is very few angles of these in publications other than one angle. This example is in extremely good condition for its age, and will eventually be fitted to my Ki-43 panel .
