This is my example of the Japanese Navy Model 2 Altimeter produced by Tanaka Keiki Seisakusho and Katsura Kenkyusho. This was a very common altimeter type used across the board in a lot of Japanese naval aircraft including the famous Mitsubishi A6M Reisen 零戦 (Type 0 fighter) “Zero” fighter and the Mitsubishi G4M Hamaki 葉巻 (Cigar/Leaf Roll) “Betty”. This is a pretty clean example of the Model 2, and one of two in my collection; the other hasn’t yellowed as much on the numbers and not as much paint missing from around the outer ring. This example will eventually be displayed in my original G4M1 Betty instrument panel (along with my second example) that I tend to try fit out with as many original items as possible.
